Barbara, a painter, received her MA from James Madison University and an MFA from Vermont College. A founding member of Co-Art in Staunton, she has been artist-in-residence for the Tyrone Gutherie Art Center in Ireland, the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. She was awarded a Visiting Artists residency at the American Academy in Rome and won Best of Show in two national juried shows: the Rio Brazos National at Tarleton State University in Texas and the Lewisburg, West Virginia Carnegie Hall Art Center's Colors of Fall. Barbara is Professor of art history and studio art at Southern Virginia University. Current shows include an Invitational at Carla Massoni Gallery and the Juried Show at Lynchburg Art Academy.
